Update - Well, we did an Android port of the American Sailing Association app. And, it was even worse than I thought. Supporting dozens of device screen sizes and all the crazy software versions was a nightmare. But, what really made it bad is the sales. Apparently Android users steel software most of the time. And they generally only download free apps. The stats prove it and now I have proof of my own. We won't be doing any more Android ports. Instead, we'll reward iOS users (which we love) with new features and products. We appreciate quality and we hope our users do too!
World Tides 2013 - Now available for the iPhone and iPad. Same low price, same data (except for dumb old France and Canada which want to charge huge fees for silly old tide data -- we boycott those numbskulls).
iPersonalTrainer - New In-App purchases available iPhone (and soon for iPad). All the old exercises are still there and we even added a few extra for free. But, now you can purchase about 4 times as many exercises. Sales have been fantastic on these in-app purchases. Thanks everyone for showing that you appreciate the app!
Android - We have decided to port some of our software to Android just to prove that the market sucks. I'm tired of the spin about how there are so many devices out there... what matters is the 8:1 app market ratio (iOS apps make 8 times as much money as Android apps on average). Why? Because Android apps generally suck... they lack quality control. Any code monkey can write an app in a couple of hours. And there are a lot of code monkeys out there making crap. We are hopeful that we aren't going to fall into this statistic because our apps are very high quality and top selling. We care about engineering and science... not just making a quick buck. We're in it for the long haul. So, we'll see... no promises on when this will happen though... but Tide Graph will be our first experiment (by overwhelming demand). Fine! We give. ;-)
